Shaun Lynn, president of BGC Partners and the man credited with spinning the New York-based inter-dealer broker out from Cantor Fitzgerald, is to step down from the role in October.

He will continue to work for the firm on strategy and corporate development, according to an email to BGC employees on 14 August.
