NYSE Euronext, the world's largest exchange group, has appointed a chief operating officer from UBS to boost its US stock trading business.

The group, formed by the merger of the New York Stock Exchange and Euronext on April 4, has hired Lawrence Leibowitz as executive vice-president and chief operating officer for US products.
