Six of the world’s biggest pension funds and insurance companies have said they will make their investments completely carbon-neutral by 2050, amid a slew of green pledges timed to coincide with the UN Climate Change Conference in New York.

Insurers Allianz, Swiss Re and Folksam, as well as the Canadian pension fund Caisse de Dépôt et Placement du Québec, the Danish scheme PensionDanmark and the French state investment fund Caisse des Dépôts et Consignations, have become the founding members of the Net-Zero Asset Owner Alliance.
