Almost a quarter of companies calculate whether they pay black employees less than white workers

The number of companies checking whether they pay black and ethnic-minority employees less than white workers has increased nearly five-fold over the last two years.

Two years ago, 5% of companies calculated their ethnicity pay gap. Today, that figure has leapt to 23%, according to a survey of more than 100 companies carried out by professional services firm PwC.
