BlackBerry is planning to promote new surveillance tech that can sidestep message encryption alongside sales of its smartphones and comms software, allowing banks to keep tabs on traders' calls, texts, and use of Whatsapp and WeChat.

The software company launched a new "commercial and technological partnership" with compliance firm VoxSmart today. It is intended to make compliance with the EU's revised trading rulebook easier for finance firms.
