BlackRock hit by first investor outflow in three years

Investors pulled a net $3.1bn from the world’s largest money manager in the latest quarter

BlackRock's cash machine is slowing, presenting new challenges for the world’s largest asset manager.

Clients withdrew a net total of $3.1bn during the three months ended September 30, the first quarterly outflow from BlackRock since the second quarter of 2015. That included a net withdrawal of $17.3bn from funds exposed to stocks.
