BlackRock, the world's largest asset manager, has ratcheted up pressure on company executives holding multiple boardroom positions, voting against a record number of directors for overboarding this year.

According to BlackRock's stewardship report, the $7.3tn asset manager voted against 728 directors for overboarding during the 2020 proxy voting season, up from 603 last year and marking a 69% increase from 2018.
