The Blackstone Group has hired a chemicals operations specialist as an executive director in the firm's private equity group.

David McVeigh joins Blackstone's portfolio management team and will help monitor and advise on strategy and operational performance of portfolio companies. He joins from McKinsey and Company, where he was a partner and a leader of the North American chemicals and Northeast energy and materials practices.
