The Blackstone Group, the advisory and investment management firm, has filed its first registration statement and chosen two longtime advisers to lead its initial public offering, thwarting earlier expectations that Goldman Sachs would lead the deal.
Early press reports said Blackstone had chosen Goldman Sachs as an underwriter on its proposed initial public offering. Instead, the global co-ordinators are Morgan Stanley and Citigroup, and the joint bookrunning managers include those two banks as well as Merrill Lynch, Credit Suisse, Lehman Brothers and Deutsche Bank.
