Bloomberg has won approval from the UK's financial regulator for a new London-based swaps platform that will be its first fully-regulated trading platform in Europe. It is being launched in anticipation of new rules forcing electronic trading on the region's derivatives market.

The venue, called the Bloomberg Trading Facility, or BTF, was approved by the UK's Financial Conduct Authority on July 23. It goes live immediately, according to Bloomberg.
