BMA calls for transparency in rating agency designation

The Bond Market Association (BMA) is to argue for more transparency and greater competition among rating agencies at a Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) hearing on Friday.

Paul Saltzman, the general counsel of the BMA, which represents securities firms and banks in the debt markets, will call for more transparency in the process by which the SEC designates some agencies as nationally recognised statistical rating organisations (NRSROs).
