BNP Paribas has recruited a senior mergers and acquisitions banker from Nomura in the UK to become its new head of that business, pledging to go “further and faster” in building up its City presence.

Andrew McNaught, co-head of M&A in Europe, the Middle East and Africa at Nomura, will join the French bank in August to lead its British M&A advisory business, according to an internal memo seen by Financial News.
