BNP Paribas is advising Cobham, the UK aerospace group, on an acquisition for the first time, in a rare transatlantic deal for the French bank.

Cobham is set to pay $73m (€62m) for the business and assets of the Litton life support unit of Northrop Grumman, the US defence company, subject to regulatory approval.
