BNP Paribas hired Nomura's former head of Asian M&A for its UK business as the French bank continues to build out its team of dealmakers in the country.

It has named Apoorva Shah a managing director within its UK advisory team, it said in a statement. He had been with Nomura for six years, heading up its M&A function in Asia, but departed in October as part of a management reshuffle.
