BNP Paribas mourns death of Gilles Glicenstein

The chief executive of BNP Paribas Investment Partners, whose decision to freeze three of the bank's funds marked the start of the current credit crisis, has died.

BNP Paribas confirmed that Gilles Glicenstein had died, saying it happened on Tuesday night but not specify the cause. Glicenstein was 44. He had twice been treated for cancer.
