Bob Diamond will step down as chair of Atlas Mara, as the Africa-focused banking group he helped found in 2013 begins a strategic review of its businesses.

Atlas Mara announced the move in a statement on February 5. Diamond will return to a non-executive role at the group as it prepares to “accelerate new digital banking and agricultural finance initiatives”.
