BofA opens LaSalle talks with RBS

Royal Bank of Scotland and Bank of America are reportedly in talks about carving up LaSalle, a North American ABN Amro subsidiary, as a shareholder group claimed to have gathered enough support to force an early vote on the US retail bank's sale.

According to The Wall Street Journal, part of the Dow Jones group that owns Financial News, RBS and Bank of America have been holding behind the scenes talks in an effort to reach a settlement over ownership of LaSalle.
