Bolkestein warns of last chance for reform

The European Commission will this week urge governments to help speed up the creation of a single European financial market or important legislation will be put at risk.

In a report to EU finance ministers, Frits Bolkestein, the internal market commissioner, will stress that time is running short to meet the deadline set by governments to complete the financial services action plan (FSAP), the foundation of the single European market in financial services by 2005.
