Bolton secures £500m with second FTSE put

One of the most influential investors in UK equities is betting on another market correction in the next year, and has insured £500m (€738m) of his fund by buying a put option on the FTSE 100, his second this year.

Anthony Bolton, manager of Fidelity International's special situations fund, has bought the option to protect his fund if the market falls. A put option gives the owner the right to sell at a specified price.
