Bonus woes could spark January job search frenzy

Workers in the UK's financial services industry continue to overlook the reality that this year's bonus pool is set to disappoint, and this could lead to 'thousands' seeking new jobs in the New Year

A mismatch between bankers’ bonus expectations and the reality of lower rewards for 2010 could lead to thousands of financial-services professionals hunting for new jobs in January, a survey of City of London workers has found.

Just under half of the 1,122 bank staff interviewed said they would consider switching jobs if their bonus expectations are unmet, according to recruitment firm Astbury Marsden.
