UK investors fled equity funds at the fastest pace since 2016 in July, according to new data, as fears about the rising likelihood of a no-deal Brexit took their toll.

Stock funds on sale in the UK suffered net outflows of £1.3bn during the month, according to Calastone, the funds data company. It said new prime minister Boris Johnson's hardline stance on Brexit was responsible for the redemptions.
