UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson has called for a “national clap” for Captain Sir Tom Moore at 6pm on 3 February, the former army officer who shot to fame as a national hero during the pandemic.

Moore raised millions of pounds for the NHS during England’s first nationwide lockdown in the spring of 2020. Aged 100, he passed away on 2 February following a short illness.
