But the prime minister warns of 'tough times ahead' for the UK's economy

The UK’s prime minister Boris Johnson has said Britain will be past the coronavirus crisis by the middle of 2021, but warned there would also be “tough times ahead” for the economy.

Speaking on the anniversary of his appointment as prime minister, Johnson told Sky News on 24 July: “I think that by the middle of next year we will be well on the way, we will be well on the way past it.”
