Borsa Italiana chief casts doubt on exchanges merger

Italy's stock exchange has serious doubts about the practicality of a full-blown merger among its European counterparts.

Massimo Capuano, chief executive of Borsa Italiana, said on Tuesday that there were too many barriers to combining the individual platforms, although he supported the creation of wide-ranging alliances and partnerships.
