BP fined for poor disclosure on acquisition

BP, the UK petrol giant, has been fined €35,000 ($34,450) for inadequate disclosure of key data about an acquisition it made two years ago.

The European Commission fined Deutsche BP, the group's German arm, for providing incomplete information to its merger taskforce on the purchase of a 50% stake in Erdölchemie, a petrochemicals plant near Cologne.
