Most British voters doubtless believe that on June 23 they are being asked to make a momentous choice that will settle one of the biggest questions about the UK’s future. But for the City of London, the vote is unlikely to be decisive, regardless of the outcome.

Whether they vote Leave or Remain, all the British people have to offer the City is pointers to which type of fundamental uncertainty it must live handle over coming years.
