The latest round of Brexit talks have concluded with continued stalemate, according to negotiators on both sides.

The ninth round of negotiations between the UK and the European trading bloc concluded on 2 October with "persistent serious divergences on matters of major importance for the European Union", Michel Barnier said in the statement.
