Bridgepoint, the UK based private equity firm, is close to a buy-out of the science division of utility group Kelda, which is the owner of Yorkshire Water.

James Murray, a director at Bridgepoint, confirmed that the firm was looking at AlControl, which is thought to fetch up to £70m (€119m).
