People seeking to travel must first make a declaration about why they need to go abroad, home secretary Priti Patel has announced, as the government updates its policy to include a mandated period of isolation in a hotel for certain UK arrivals.
This declaration will be checked by carriers prior to departure, which Patel said “effectively mirrors” the checks upon landing such as locator forms.
