Brown backs Myners' views on institutional investment

Gordon Brown, the UK Chancellor of the Exchequer, has accepted the recommendations on institutional investment made on Tuesday by Paul Myners in his government-sponsored report.

In his budget speech on Wednesday, Brown spoke of Myners' report in terms of promoting competition and entrepreneurship and said that he would abolish the much berated minimum funding requirement (MFR) on pension funds.
