It’s not perhaps the most glamorous investment opportunity one can imagine, but youth hostelling is attracting a new brand of savvy investor.

The Moorfield Real Estate Fund in partnership with property firm Safeland has launched a £50m venture to turn the former London HQ of the Labour Party at John Smith House into a 400-bed hostel, the first of several projects they envisage around the UK.
