Burford Capital bows to investor pressure and replaces CFO

Elizabeth O’Connell will step down to become chief strategy officer

Burford Capital, the UK-listed litigation finance fund involved in a public spat with US short-seller Muddy Waters Research, has bowed to shareholder pressure and replaced its chief financial officer.

Elizabeth O’Connell, who has been chief financial officer of the company since 2017, is married to the company’s chief executive, Christopher Bogart.
