Buyout-backed IPOs rebound in Europe and US

Deal values have rebounded strongly on both sides of the Atlantic this year but investors remain highly selective of which deals to back

The market for private equity-backed initial public offerings has rebounded substantially on both sides of the Atlantic this year, but still lags expectations as investors remain selective of which deals to back.

The value of US buyout-backed companies that have floated in the US so far this year is $10.8bn, according to data provider Dealogic. This marks the highest year-to-date figure since the height of the boom in 2007, when such flotations totaled $15.8bn over the same period.
