Calls grow for relaxation of insider dealing rules

Fund managers are typically barred from trading in the shares of companies where they are involved in significant governance actions

Asset managers are set to lobby for a relaxation of rules on insider trading to facilitate a collective approach to corporate governance.

Such a change was viewed sympathetically by last year's John Kay report on long-term investment and the initiative was given a boost last week by the Parliamentary Commission on Banking Standards, led by Andrew Tyrie MP.
