Calpers names Anson's replacement

Mellon Financial revealed as the scheme's worst-performing investments

The California Public Employees' Retirement System, the largest pension fund in the US with $207.4bn (€170bn) under management, has named Russell Read as its new chief investment officer replacing Mark Anson.

Anson left Calpers in January to become chief executive of Hermes, the asset manager owned by the £34.5bn (€49.7bn) BT pension scheme.
