Campbell & Company, the $5bn (€4.6bn) US alternative investment firm, has hired Kevin Heerdt, former chief investment officer at Moore Capital, the secretive US fund run by billionaire Louis Bacon, as an executive vice-president.

Heerdt will assist with the overall growth and development of Campbell, with a focus on risk management, research and the development of quantitatively based hedge fund and options strategies.
