Canary Wharf, Heathrow lead call for chancellor to bail out London’s transport network

TfL's finances are in tatters after the government advised people to work from home for a second time

The owners of Canary Wharf and Heathrow Airport are leading a campaign for the government to bail out London’s transport network.

They urged Chancellor Rishi Sunak to “finalise an appropriate funding agreement with Transport for London as soon as possible” in a letter dated 14 October. Insurer Aviva, property developer British Land and the University of London also signed the letter.
