Candover Investments, the UK private equity group, is to launch its first new fund in nearly four years.

A Candover spokeswoman confirmed on Wednesday that the firm was in the early stages of launching a fund. Market speculation has suggested its size could be between €2bn ($1.9bn) and €2.5bn. However, Candover declined to disclose further details.
