Investors in troubled private equity firm Candover Partners expect the European buyout operation to attempt to raise a new fund in the coming years despite the demise of its listed parent.

Investors in Candover Partners' funds told Financial News that there was still a future for the buyout firm, despite the fact that its listed parent and cornerstone investor, Candover Investments is expected to wind down after liquidity troubles forced it to halt making future commitments to fund managers.
