Capital Group fund manager resigns after BBC allegations

Former equity portfolio manager Mark Denning resigned from the $1.9tn asset manager

A fund manager at Capital Group has resigned following a report by the BBC that he had been acquiring shares — in secret — for his own benefit in some of the same companies he invested clients’ money in.

Mark Denning, who had been at the firm for over 35 years, left his job five days after BBC One’s Panorama programme contacted the firm, the BBC said. Capital Group has more than $1.9tn assets under management.
