CapMan hires former Sampo-Leonia president for buy-outs

CapMan, a private equity house covering the Nordic region, has hired Matti Copeland, a former banker, as an investment director for its recently reorganised buy-out unit.

Copeland joins from Aura Capital, a Finnish venture capital firm. Before that he was president of Sampo-Leonia, the investment bank, following the merger of Leonia, the Finnish financial services group, with Sampo Insurance. He has previously held management positions in Citibank and Merita-Nordbanken. Copeland also has corporate experience having been chief executive of the Jippii Group, a Finnish mobile telecom service company.
