Carlyle eyes aerospace float

The Carlyle Group is in the early stages of preparing to exit its investment in Avio, the Turin-based aerospace company it acquired from Fiat in July 2003.

The US buy-out group, which is best known for its investments in the defence and aerospace sectors, has not yet appointed banks to advise on the exit.
