CDC shifts to infrastructure projects

The state-backed development finance targets more infrastructure projects with a $30m investment in Africa

CDC Group, a UK-government backed development finance group, plans to broaden its investment strategy to include more infrastructure projects. The plans come days before the end of a public review into the firm’s operations amid criticism that it has moved too far away from its original brief of reducing poverty.

CDC said in a statement it has invested $30m in an African infrastructure fund managed by Africa Infrastructure Investment Managers.
