Centerbridge Partners, the private equity firm founded by Mark Gallogly from The Blackstone Group, has hired a former chief financial officer at General Motors to focus in the auto sector.

Stephen Girsky worked for a year as chief financial officer and was a special advisor to the chief executive. He previously worked at Morgan Stanley as a senior analyst on the global automotive and auto parts research team.
