The chief executives of the London and Hong Kong stock exchanges have set out clashing visions for the future of the two marketplaces at a showpiece industry event.

The London Stock Exchange’s rejection of Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing’s £31.6bn takeover bid heightened anticipation for the chief executives’ appearance at the annual Sibos conference this week. They appeared one after the other in question-and-answer format interviews on the same stage on September 24.
