Charlotte Hogg, the Bank of England's new deputy governor for markets, has resigned after drawing fire from lawmakers for failing to disclose her brother's senior role at Barclays.

Hogg, chief operating officer at the central bank since 2013,  was appointed to succeed Minouche Shafik as deputy governor for markets and banking in early February.
