Deutsche Bank is the highest-paying bank on the street with average compensation of $492k last year. Over five years, it is the second highest-paying bank with $504k per employee behind Goldman Sachs. Revenue per employee of $1.73m is best in class, and more than double the levels at Credit Suisse or UBS. Deutsche is one of a handful of banks at which profit per employee also rose.
The bank says the pay numbers are misleading, because they do not include several thousand group-level IT and infrastructure staff.
Deutsche Bank does not include all of the investment bank¹s IT and infrastructure staff in its headcount, but does allocate costs to them. This flatters its number at a "per employee" level.
