China prices largest technology issue since 2001

Semiconductor Manufacturing International, China's largest chip maker, has priced its initial public offering at the top of its bookbuilding range to raise $1.8bn (€1.5bn) in the largest global technology float for almost three years.

Credit Suisse First Boston was sole global coordinator and joint bookrunner with Deutsche Bank for the sale of 5.15 billion shares representing 28% of the company.
