Chinese Walls firm at Morgan Stanley

Morgan Stanley's analysts cut their ratings and price targets for a number of insurers in Europe on the same day that the bank led the sale of shares in Fortis, the Dutch-Belgian insurance group.

The move, proving that Chinese Walls between analysts and investment bankers are alive and well, sent share prices on the DJ Stoxx European insurance sector to their lowest level since September 11.
