The Church of England has put forward a former De Beers finance executive to take charge of its £8.3bn endowment fund, following the retirement of Andrew Brown earlier this year.

Gareth Mostyn joined the church in 2018 as chief finance and operations officer, having been executive head of strategy and corporate affairs at the diamond-mining group.
